Washington and Sai Kishore are among 4 spinners included as India's net bowlers

The national selectors have added four net bowlers to the Indian squad for the first Test against Australia, and not so surprisingly, all four are spinners. Saurabh Kumar, a 29-year-old left-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Chahar, a 23-year-old leg-spinner from Rajasthan, and R Sai Kishore (26), another left-arm spinner who plays for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and Gujarat Titans in the IPL, has joined the squad.

Yasir Arafat to be Pakistan's new bowling coach

Mickey Arthur, who is in line to become the team director of the Pakistan men's national team, has reached out to Yasir Arafat, the former fast bowler, for the role of bowling coach. It is understood that the PCB wants three separate coaches - for batting, bowling, and fielding - to work with Arthur after he comes on board.

Around 1,000 cricketers have signed up for the auction but only 100-120 will end up getting teams as there are only five teams participating in the inaugural edition. Back in 2022, 1,214 had signed up for the mega auction ahead of the 2022 edition of the IPL and it was pruned to 600. Out of the 600, 278 players were taken by the ten teams which participated in the two-day mega auction.

The 'Ashwin impersonator' gets Australia's prep off the mark

Steve Smith had played scant attention to what was transpiring in the net next to him till then. He'd stuck to his customarily single-minded approach of getting his head and hands around the challenge ahead of him, alongside the constant and incessant banter with his tag-team partner Marnus Labuschagne, who was literally tagging with him in the same net.

Butler - It is frustrating when players choose T20 franchises over England

England will field a weakened team against Bangladesh with a number of players choosing to play in the PSL instead. Buttler is without a raft of players for the tour which sees England play three ODIs and then three T20s and is vital preparation for the 50-over World Cup in India later in the year. The ODI leg, which begins on March 1, clashes with the Test tour of New Zealand, while the whole trip clashes with the Pakistan Super League.
