Hardik's India start favorites against Asian Champions Sri Lanka

Scheduling a T20 bilateral series at the beginning of a 50-over World Cup year might not necessarily make sense- could be based on commercial expediency rather than cricketing efficacy. Regardless of the commercial commitments, the series still cannot be placed in the category of irrelevance.

A new captain and a young experimental side are a work in progress and the Indian team management has a lot to study and strategize on. The planning for the next T20 World Cup, scheduled for 2024, can start with the three-match series against Sri Lanka and in the one that follows, against New Zealand later this month.

Bumrah Makes a Comeback

Bumrah's rehab and recovery report is believed to have been discussed at the BCCI's performance review meeting on Monday since he had been ruled out since September last year; leading to a change in stance regarding selection.

Bumrah's inclusion in the ODI squad means India have a near full-strength pace attack for the series against Sri Lanka, with Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Umran Malik, in addition to seam-bowling allrounder Hardik Pandya, all in the mix.

Matt Henry, and Ajaz Patel claim honors on the second day in Karachi

A confident 74 from Imam-ul-Haq and a slow, yet solid 13 from Saud Shakeel ensured Pakistan made a steady resurgence in their innings after they briefly appeared to fall apart. The pair's unbeaten fourth-wicket stand of 55 lifted Pakistan to 154 for 3, still 295 behind New Zealand's first-innings total of 449.

Quote of the Day πŸ“’

"They took the game away in the Asia Cup, so all the players who took the game away are the players I'm looking for to stop them, to make sure that they don't take the game away from us. They are a very exciting team, you can see a lot of emotion also is there because obviously, what happened in the past in the country and that gave them more motivation to go out there and be in a zone where they're ready to do anything and everything possible."
