Quote 💬

With the personnel we have, guys going out and expressing themselves... if that equates to a South African Bazball way of playing - to use a stupid term - then so be it. If it means we are going to go out there and block the shit out of the ball, so be it.

Temba Bavuma has really had it with the B-word and everyone expecting South Africa to emulate England's aggressive new approach to cricket
Idea 🎤
Ponting has an Idea to Revive Test Cricket

When Cricket Australia negotiated its broadcast rights deal with Foxtel and Seven over the summer, it was from Test cricket’s uplift in the audience that virtually every dollar of rights value improvement came from. Yet the poverty of the Proteas’ cricket, particularly their batting, illustrated how the drain of players to Kolpak deals in English country cricket and to Twenty20 franchise leagues had sapped one of the game’s richest wellsprings of talent over the past 30 years.

Opinion 🐊
Inside his 22-month battle back to international cricket for Jofra Archer
Archer will make his England return on Friday after suffering two 'career-threatening' injuries and three surgeries. Archer is well aware of the expectation around his return, and his performances in the SA20 did little to quell the excitement. But that was the first step and this, in Bloemfontein on Friday, is the second. England have been cautious because they want him back bowling in the biggest events: flagship Test series like the Ashes and World Cups.
